Justice nomination

President Trump's nomination could very well be one of the biggest highlights of this presidency. Judge Barrett was tremendous in the confirmation hearings. Articulate, poised and brilliant are three words that come to mind. Well done to President Trump and Judge Barrett.

Biden on guns

All you voters out there who own firearms should consider this before going to the polls to vote. Joe Biden has said he wants to ban any firearm that holds more than five rounds of ammo. That would take Marshal Matt Dillon's revolver away from him, and we all know Marshal Dillon was a good guy.

The bubbles

The NHL and NBA stayed in their protective bubbles to avoid COVID-19 and it worked. Being a true believer of Trump is also like being in a bubble with one drawback, it's one of the best ways to contract COVID-19. No masks and attending superspreader events achieves the exact opposite results of the sports bubbles.

Indoctrination

Our public education system in this country is failing our children. So many of our young adults can't do simple tasks such as read a ruler, count change, do simple math without a calculator, or even sign their name -- they print it. Our colleges have become an industry. Students are required to take too many courses that don't have anything to do with their degree. Many professors are more interested in influencing the students' political views. I'm a parent of a student that is a junior at SEMO who is in their early 30s and has young teenagers that attend high school. They witness the political influence on a daily basis. If we as parents and grandparents keep quiet, things will get worse, our children will lose their independence and will believe anything they're told.

Biased media

I am trying to figure out why the news media spent months on the report that President Trump tried to get a quid-pro-quo with the president of Ukraine (which was false) but said nothing about Joe Biden getting Ukraine prosecuting attorney who was investigating the Burisma oil company fired by telling Ukraine government if they did not fire him (he was investigating the co. that hunter Biden was working for) they would not get the billion dollars from the U.S. government (quid-pro quid), but there was no coverage about that. Gee, you think the press might be a little biased?

Judge Barrett

Amy Coney Barrett was selected because of her belief system and only for that. Pretending otherwise is just a farce. Conservatives want to inflict their religious beliefs on the 70-ish percent of the rest of us. That is not freedom of religion or even freedom from religion. It is just religious persecution on a national scale.

QAnon censored

I wanted to say how much I support Facebook, Twitter and other social media companies decision to ban QAnon. QAnon is a dangerous and false conspiracy cult that leads to a dangerous disconnect from reality that could lead to acts of terror as the Department of Homeland Security and FBI have warned about. And I am glad that social media is now being closed off from misinformation, instead of pushing it.

Sell outs

Joe Biden is a perfect example of what is wrong with our political system, he has made himself and his family very rich. Just like the Clintons he puts he and his family first before what is best for the country. These two families are like a organized crime family. They have sold our country out. Some Republicans have done the same. This is the reason we need term limits.

Arozarena, Cardinals

Why did the Cardinals trade away Randy Arozarena? He's fantastic! It's a big loss for the Cards and a huge bonus for the Rays.

  • QAnon censored

I am glad to see that the Southeast Missourian posted my Speak Out comment on QAnon. In the time that since made that post both TikTok and Spotify has join in the banning of QAnon misinformation. With TikTok banning accounts of people who are spreading QAnon misinformation and Spotify removing Podcast that spread QAnon misinformation.

Justice nomination: Agree if anyone is qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice it's Judge Barrett.

Biden on guns: The Dems will start small and then end up taking all of the guns away from Americans by trashing the 2nd Amendment.

The bubbles: Yep the NBA finals with a 70% fewer viewership than last year which will make the sponsors very happy. Don't know about the NHL - didn't watch any or hear anything about it. Don't forget the 30% less viewership of the NFL than last year which was a decreased percentage year.

Indoctrination: Caller brings out some good points. Kids nowadays can't do simple things that are needed to manage life today....however they can text and do all that stuff on social media.

Biased media: 95% biased according to a Harvard Study for the Democrats. Shameful of a once free and independent press. Even our local TV station just parrots the CBS corporate talking heads.

Judge Barrett: Yep RBG was pushing her Liberal views on the USA - do you disagree that she should not have done it or only Conservative views not allowed.

QAnon censored: Guess these same social media platforms also need to omit anything related to BLM & ANTIFA who are proven domestic terrorist organizations. Haven't seen QAnon loot or riot or for that matter know much about the so called organization agenda.

Sell outs: The Clinton & Biden crime families (BTW Democrats) all started out as average middle-income families and are now multi-millionaire families - follow the money trail.

Arozarena, Cardinals: As a matter of practice the Cardinal leadership trade/sell their best players to get "young" talent that are years from being experienced players.

And that's the way it should be according to Schaefer's World....Wednesday October 21, 2020.

  • The jealousy is so apparent from the liberals that Trump can draw out thousands to a rally and Biden can't be drawn out of his basement. They try to throw out the notion how unsafe and irresponsible these rally's are but we know why they are whining. Pure jealousy....plain and simple. But we also know their real reason for keeping sleepy Joe in the basement. If they can only keep his mouth shut a little longer...they think their chances of electing him are better. It is so transparent.

  • Rudy Giuliani caught in compromising position in new 'Borat' film

Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, fell for an embarrassing Sacha Baron Cohen prank in the soon-to-be-released movie sequel to "Borat."

In the film, a copy of which was obtained by NBC News, Giuliani and a young woman posing as a reporter, who was part of Cohen's sting, can be seen going into a hotel bedroom for drinks — at the woman's invitation — after completing what Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, apparently believed to be a real interview about the coronavirus pandemic and Trump's response to it.

The incident occurred as Giuliani, 76, was trying to remove his microphone, with the help of the actress, which had been used as part of the movie's "interview" with him.

The film, which is being released Friday on Amazon Prime Video, shows Giuliani reclining on a bed and then putting his hand down his pants and moving it around for what appears to be a few seconds while the actress playing Borat's teenage daughter, Maria Bakalova, 24, who is pretending to be a television reporter, stands in front of him.

NBC News obtained an advance copy of the film, which is titled "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan."

Giuliani and the woman, recorded by what seem to be hidden cameras, are eventually interrupted by Cohen, who bursts into the bedroom in his Borat persona, shouting: "She's 15. She's too old for you!"

Giuliani quickly sits up and appears startled by the presence of Cohen, who wears a pink outfit that resembles lingerie.

Giuliani asks him: "Why are you dressed like this?"

Cohen-as-Borat responds: "She's my daughter. Please, take me instead."

"I don't want you," Giuliani replies. He then makes his way out of the hotel suite.

Giuliani, who in the context of the film had no reason to believe the fictional interviewer was underage, did not immediately respond to text messages requesting comment.

In a tweet Wednesday afternoon, Giuliani claimed without evidence that the "Borat video is a complete fabrication."

"I was tucking in my shirt after taking off the recording equipment," Giuliani tweeted. "At no time before, during, or after the interview was I ever inappropriate. If Sacha Baron Cohen implies otherwise he is a stone-cold liar."

Beyond what is seen in the movie, NBC News does not know what happened before or after the filmed incident.

The film also features a scene in which Bakalova asks Giuliani about the coronavirus pandemic. He responds that China "manufactured" Covid-19 and "deliberately spread it all over the world."

"I don't think anybody was eating bats," he adds before jokingly asking her whether she has ever eaten a bat. He appears to agree to eat one if she will.

The prank is one of the most notable moments in the "Borat" sequel, which also includes a scene in which Cohen crashes the Conservative Political Action Conference while wearing a full-body Trump costume.

Giuliani's appearance in the film was foreshadowed in the New York Post this summer. In early July, Giuliani said he called the New York City Police Department after the setup.

"This guy comes running in, wearing a crazy, what I would say was a pink transgender outfit," Giuliani was quoted as saying, referring to Cohen.

"This person comes in yelling and screaming, and I thought this must be a scam or a shake-down, so I reported it to the police. He then ran away," he added, acknowledging that he did not immediately realize that Cohen was behind the stunt.

"I only later realized it must have been Sacha Baron Cohen. I thought about all the people he previously fooled and I felt good about myself because he didn't get me," Giuliani said.

  • NEW YORK (AP) — Rudy Giuliani is shown in a compromising position in a hotel room with a young actress pretending to be a television journalist in a scene in Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest mockumentary, a sequel to his hit “Borat” film.

The scene shot in a New York hotel room in July — which resulted in Giuliani calling police — includes a moment when Giuliani is seen lying on a bed, tucking in his shirt with his hand down his pants and the young woman nearby.

Giuliani went to the hotel room thinking he was being interviewed about the Trump administration’s COVID-19 response. The young woman is flirtatious with him and invites him to the bedroom, which is rigged with hidden cameras.

Giuliani then asks for her phone number and address. He lies back on the bed to tuck in his shirt and has his hands in his pants when Baron Cohen rushes in wearing an outlandish outfit.

Baron Cohen, who was disguised as part of the crew, screams that the young woman is 15 years old. Up to that point, there is no indication she is underage. The character, Borat’s daughter, is played by actress Maria Bakalova, who is listed as 24 years old on the Internet Movie Database site, IMDb.com.

    Giuliani had no immediate comment.

The former New York City mayor called police after that encounter, but there is no indication an investigation was launched. Giuliani spoke to the New York Post’s Page Six column about the incident in July, but did not mention the bedroom aspect of the encounter.

New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, who profiled Baron Cohen ahead of the the film’s release, tweeted Wednesday about the scene: “It’s even wilder than it sounds. Beyond cringe.”

Trolling those close to President Donald Trump is a central theme of the new “Borat” film, a sequel to the 2006 mockumentary that saw Baron Cohen’s character travel the United States, espousing sexist, racist and anti-Semitic views, and eliciting similar responses from unwitting subjects.

For “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan,” Baron Cohen returns as his alter-ego from Kazakhstan in a plot that involves trying to give his daughter as a gift to Vice President Mike Pence.

The closest Borat gets is the audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where he shouts to Pence that he’s brought a woman for him. Dressed in a Donald Trump costume and with Borat’s daughter, played by Bakalova, slung over his shoulder, Baron Cohen is swiftly escorted out by security.

That leads to a second scheme involving Giuliani that ends up in the hotel room scene.

Giuliani finalized his divorce from his wife of 15 years in December.

Baron Cohen has made a history of poking fun at conservative figures. For his 2018 Showtime series “Who Is America,” the British comedian got former Vice President Dick Cheney to sign a waterboarding kit. A sketch with former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore involved the comedian administering a “pedophile test.” Moore has sued over the encounter.
