Speak Out: Mysterious lights in Scott County part of "Ozark Spook Lights"

Could the mysterious lights recently seen in Scott County be a type of famous phenomenon that occurs in the Southwest Missouri Ozarks?

Author D.S. Reif recently wrote in his article entitled, "Haunting the Ozarks" found on his blog at: http://dsreif.blogspot.com/2009/07/haunting-ozarks.html#comment-form

"Just south of Joplin, Missouri is the famous "Ozark spook lights". Sometimes globs, or bands, or shafts of light bubble up from the ground a phenomenon that has been seen by thousands over the years. No less than the US military has conducted "hush-hush" experiments in the area concluding that the whole thing was "anomalous". Yet at times the frequency of the Ozark energy seems to slow down beneath the speed of light and manifest as bright balls or globs that are perceivable to the human eye. That's what I think."

  • According to the article in the SEMissourian, we were suppose to be able to see them again on July 25th, which I missed (dang-it) and again this Monday, 27th around 8:15P.M. This goes with the international space station theory.

Did anyone see them on the 25th???
