Thanks, Savant - was just thinking how long it's been since a SpeakOut was posted for comments. Certainly have come a long ways from the 200-300 posts regularly garnered 10-15 years back on a SpeakOut column. :-)

Re: License plates for UTV's

Seems to be a city or county thing as to whether these can be operated on highways for pleasure, at all. https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=304.032 Perhaps a missed revenue opportunity with tickets if the city or county doesn't allow this, or if proper permits haven't been obtained, as it seems many people now view rules and laws as something for the other people.

Re: Juvenile office

Perhaps one of the many reasons in the observed decline of civilized society, even before getting to the idea of holding parents/guardians highly and directly accountable for what their juveniles do, now that many parents/guardians seem to effectively endorse these behaviors.

Re: Biden's mistakes

Figure the coming election will likely either serve as the Great Reset, or the continued endorsement of the go-ins' on.

Re: Tipping etiquette

Ugh! Solution here has been to avoid places where tipping might be expected, such as eating out, where it seems 25% is now getting promoted as the new normal. Pfffft, between this, and the 9-11% sales tax - rapidly approaching double the listed menu prices. Could holler about lotsa ways to fix this, such as how the Europeans do with built-in pricing, or take away the food-service half-rate minimum wage in lieu of tipping, etc. but the 'go quietly in the night', easy-button solution is to just eat at the house to avoid the noise and confusion while saving a bit on grocery-gobblins.

Figure this'll light some of the greenies up -

"FERC approves MISO reliability contract to keep Ameren Missouri’s Rush Island coal plant operating" https://www.utilitydive.com/news/ameren-rush-island-ferc-miso-reliability-ssr-co...

"Ameren Missouri’s 1,195-MW Rush Island power plant is necessary to maintain grid reliability, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said..."

"Instead of retiring its Rush Island power plant on Sept. 1, 2022, as originally planned, Ameren Missouri expects to keep it running until mid-2025 to support grid reliability."

"Shuttering the plant near Festus, Missouri, could cause severe voltage stability problems, leading to cascading power outages,..."

Thank goodness someone has finally stepped up during this coal-plant shutdown, green transition frenzy to say, now just hold up there...

  • Exactly how many hours does it take for someone to not be under the effect of marijuana? The published statement says no one can be fired for metabolites?? Yeah I want that person driving a car or pushing IV drugs on me in a hospital. You all are nuts. Every one should read the numerous pages of nonsense which they hope no one will read. NO TO MARIJUANA

    Trash truck ran today.

Figure there's gonna be more than a few unhappy campers tonite when they get home, seeing their trash wasn't emptied without even having to open the lid, since the lid was already up due to the amount of trash piled in.

Another instance of the observed declines in civilization around town - where following published rules just doesn't matter when they're inconvenient.
