Speak Out: Who and What is the FBI

Posted by Old John on Sun, Jun 12, 2011, at 11:04 PM:

I have seen news where the FBI was called and deployed to foriegn counties. TV shows depict the FBI as the ultimate authority in top charge of everything concerning law enforcement. Where do there powers come from and how far reaching are those powers?

I guess I need some education.

  • yup...wasn't it not too long ago the Feds told the state of Arizona stopping people without probable cause was racial profiling ?

i could have swore the Supreme Court just made a decision that police can't search a vehicle for probable cause ...maybe i'm mixfused again..

  • Like everything else the FBI was started with good intentions and has become another bloated bureaucracy feeding off the fears of the citizens.

  • All the alphabet soup agencies were established with good intentions but mission creep and egotistical directors have taken over.
