Speak Out: The Washington DC Warlords are gearing up again.

Posted by FreedomFadingFast on Wed, Apr 17, 2013, at 8:32 PM:

WASHINGTON -- Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told Congress on Wednesday that the Pentagon is sending about 200 soldiers from an Army headquarters unit to Jordan to assist efforts to contain violence along the Syrian border and plan for any operations needed to ensure the safety of chemical weapons in Syria.

Kind of like how the Vietnam fiasco started, isn't it? "We'll just send a few troops over to help"

Not really. We refused to go in to help the French. We went in to help the South Vietnamese, but only after the French had forgone their claims upon the former colony. That's why it was called the 'Vietnam War' and not the 'French Indochina Conflict' when we went in.

  • The US will be involved in another war before we're finished with the Afghanistan boondoggle. Politicians love war. Much money to be made by all.

  • Old John, Their oil and their livelihoods. There are two reasons I can think of for war, defense and acquisition of wealth (their lunch money).

Not sure if I can see any lunch money in regard to Vietnam.

  • From one of the internal links: Despite rich natural resources - oil, natural gas, coal, minerals, agricultural land, forests and marine resources, Viet Nam is one of the world's poorest countries. It is the 13th largest country in the world. In 1995, Viet Nam's GDP (gross domestic product) was 14.86 billion but their per capita income was only $220.4041 Currently, there are approximately 85.2 million people in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with a literacy rate of 90.3% and a per capita income in 2006 of $720.42 The GDP in 2006 was $61 billion. The principle exports are: garments/textiles, crude oil, footwear, rice (now the second-largest exporter in world), sea products, coffee, rubber, and handicrafts.43 Unprotected by inadequate environmental laws, Viet Nam, like China, endures serious pollution emanating from all of those new factories. Due to the economic boom, Viet Nam suffers from overcrowded cities, traffic jams, hard drugs, prostitution and the inevitable disintegration of families.

I would have to be EOS, TC, or perhaps BC to follow all this. :) It's hard for me to comprehend such intricate actions and planning by so many players.

Seems it would have been easier for the power elite to promise the communists could have their way in exchange for the oil, given all their clout and power.

  • "What about the sequester hype ?"

Obama is seeing to it that only Americans tighten their belts because of "HIS" Sequester. The Syrians do not need to be beaten into submission.... they cannot vote.
