Freedom of speech, dying a slow death, is just about ready for life support.

  • Muslims deserve the right to be offended and insulted just as those claiming other faiths or no faith.

    Yet neither praise expect, nor censure fear;

    And this unpolished, rugged verse I chose;

As fittest discourse and nearest prose."

    Old John,

They called me a mackerel snapper when I was a kid.... do you think the statutes of limitation have run out on that. :-)

  • Old John,

I am surprised. A pet name for Catholics because at one time they were supposed to not eat meat on Fridays for penance.... so they ate fish. Now if you could afford it, lobster would have been ok. Some punishment huh?

  • Wheels, Most folks I knew in the old days thought mackeral cakes from canned stock was on an upper class table and would take that nomenplature as a compliment. :)

Yes I did thank you. From what I understand it took at least part of the roof off the Casino across the river in Maryland Heights, which is probably two or three miles from me. When those tornado sirens went off, I ducked for cover.

I'm a little like this neighbor lady who lived up the hill from us. She and her kids could make it to our storm cellar quicker than we could and it was only across the yard from us. Her husband refused to be beaten by Mother Nature.... he stayed at the top of the hill and just stared the storm down.

What a lady. She made me my first glass of Grape KoolAid that had ice in it, when they got one of those new fangled Servel refrigerators that used a kerosene burner for it's heat source to make cold.

We was poor white trash who lived past where they ran electric lines in that day.

You know it was kind of like a little mixed religion chapel in that storm cellar when a really bad storm came through. Only way to tell the Baptists from the Catholics was by the Praise the Lords and the Hail Marys. Kind of reminds you of Garrison Keeler (Spelling?). We lived in a neighborhood where all or the kids were above average, the men were all good looking and the women were strong..... or whatever he always said, it went something like that. :-)

I just awoke from my pre-sleep nap... think I'll go to bed.

  • Isn't it a shame that a group of people want to interpret the laws we have and they abhor to protect themselves from criticism? Liberals will stand up and howl about the rights of a group who's very existence is diametrically opposed to everything they believe.

    From Wikipedia:

Blasphemy in Islam is any irreverent behavior[1] toward holy personages, religious artifacts, customs, and beliefs that Muslims revere. The Quran and the hadith do not speak about any worldy punishment for blasphemy.[2] Jurists created the offence, and they made it part of Sharia.[2] Where Sharia pertains, the penalties for blasphemy can include fines, imprisonment, flogging, amputation, hanging, or beheading.[3][4]Muslim clerics may call for the punishment of an alleged blasphemer by issuing a fatwā.[5][6]

If one insults Islam are these the punishments that will be prescribed by the DOJ?

These are the idiots that have religious rules about toilet usage like which way to wipe. Was that an insult? I sure the **** hope so.

  • This email came yesterday. Perfect timing.

Subject: What really died at Auschwitz

    What really died at Auschwitz?

The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15 2011. It doesn't take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe - and possibly to the rest of the world.

THIS WAS IN A SPANISH NEWSPAPER:

    "EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ"

    By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez

"I walked down the street in Barcelona and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz. We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world.

These are the people we burned.

And under the pretence of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime. Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves. Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now more than sixty years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, twenty million Russians, ten million Christians, and nineteen-hundred Catholic priests who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated.' Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center 'NEVER HAPPENED' because it offends some Muslim in the United States? If our Judeo-Christian heritage is offensive to Muslims, they should pack up and move to Iran, Iraq or some other Muslim country.

Please do not just delete this message; it will take only a minute to pass this along. We must wake up America (also UK, Australia,Canada, Europe, and Africa) before it's too late.

It appears to me this message was too late.

This is the government favored by the obama regime. The government that the obama regime put in place in Egypt. The Egyptian government has the same disdain for freedom of thought/speech as the U.S. government does.

A: Two Jews grabbed a penny at the same time.

  • And to be fairer:

A nun at a Catholic school asked her students what they want to be when they grow up.

Little Suzy declares, "I want to be a prostitute."

"What did you say?!" asks the nun, totally shocked.

"I said I want to be a prostitute," Suzy repeats.

"Oh, thank heavens," says the nun. "I thought you said 'a Protestant!'"

Hope that about covers everyone. Which one will Eric Holder get all stitchy about? He can contact me at:

Why don't Baptists make love standing up?

Someone will think they are dancing.

And this one told to me by a Baptist Preacher.

How is Texas getting rid of tumbleweeds and whiskey?

Pour the whiskey on the tumbleweeds and the Baptists will chew them down to the roots.

  • Bo, somewhere I have a picture that I would love to post, but they stopped that a long time ago.

The picture was of a single wide Mobile Home, parked on an Ozark hillside. The deep thinker did not park it alongside the hill, he parked it headed into the hill, and then jacked it up to level. On the back end you would have needed a ladder to touch the bottom of it. It was on the internet a couple of years back and someone labeled it a "Baptist Retreat House..... No Sex and no Dancing!"

Don't you Lah'ko-ta folks know it is un-American to be refusing free tax payer dollars handed out by Gubment employees?

We need another law stating you must accept money when it is handed out freely by paid Gubment Employees.Fine, penalties and interest would follow.

  • Been there, done that! When we got nearly 15 inches of rain in about two days, a fellow from the gubmnt came round snooping shortly after saying he was reporting on flood damage and informing folks like me that I could get money. I politely downplayed my loss, thanked him and sent him on his way.

Part of me immediatly told myself I should have taken that free money but I got over it.

  • I NEVER KNEW THIS ABOUT JAPAN .....................

Have you ever read in the newspaper that a political leader or a prime minister from an Islamic nation has visited Japan ?

Have you ever come across news that the Ayatollah of Iran or the King of Saudi Arabia or even a Saudi Prince has visited Japan ?

Japan is a country keeping Islam at bay. Japan has put strict restrictions on Islam and ALL Muslims.

    The reasons are :

    1) Japan is the only nation that does not give citizenship to Muslims.

    2) In Japan permanent residency is not given to Muslims.

    3) There is a strong ban on the propagation of Islam in Japan .

    4) In the University of Japan , Arabic or any Islamic language is not taught.

    5) One cannot import a 'Koran' published in the Arabic language.

    6) According to data published by the Japanese government, it has given temporary residency to only 2 lakhs, Muslims, who must follow the Japanese Law of the Land. These Muslims should speak Japanese and only carry on their religious rituals in their homes.

    7) Japan is the only country in the world that has a negligible number of embassies in Islamic countries.

    8) Japanese people are not attracted to Islam at all.

    9) Muslims residing in Japan are the employees of foreign companies.

    10) Even today, visas are not granted to Muslim doctors, engineers or managers sent by foreign companies.

    11) In the majority of companies it is stated in their regulations that no Muslims should apply for a job.

    12) The Japanese government is of the opinion that Muslims are fundamentalist and even in the era of globalization they are not willing to change their Muslim laws.

    13) Muslims cannot even think about renting a house in Japan .

    14) If anyone comes to know that his neighbour is a Muslim then the whole neighbourhood stays alert.

    15) No one can start an Islamic cell or Arabic 'Madrasa' in Japan .

    16) If a Japanese woman marries a Muslim then she is considered an outcast forever.

    17) According to Mr. Kumiko Yagi, Professor of Arab/Islamic Studies at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, "There is a mind frame in Japan that Islam is a very narrow minded religion and one should stay away from it."

There is no Sharia law in Japan .

  • "Japanese people are not attracted to Islam at all."

Japanese are not generally attracted to religion at all. The majority of the population is identified as Shinto-Buddhist, which is to say they are identified with Japan's traditional Shinto religion, which 'merged' with Buddhism in some regards several centuries ago. It is generally reported that most Japanese participate in no Shinto or Buddhist religious practices outside of burial rites.

The association of the Japanese people with Shinto-Buddhism is based more on birth association than on their personal beliefs. A vast majority of Japanese people claim no personal religious affiliation.
