I give the kids lots of popsicles, they love it and they stay hydrated.

Also if you have a elderly family member/neighbor, please go and check on them!

  • I work for a cheap b@$t@rd. I asked numerous times last summer if he'd fix the air conditioner in the truck I drive, and every time he told me that he wasn't going to fix it because it would only encourage me to idle the truck unnecessarily. He told me to just roll down the windows when I was driving, and if I had to sit and wait, to get out and sit under a shade tree. Fixing the AC costs money, and when fuel was $5/gallon, he said he couldn't see spending money in order to increase his cost of operation.

    Here it is another summer. Fuel is cheaper...about half of what it was last summer....still getting the same song and dance from him though.

    So, I carry a big'ol jug of ice water...staying hydrated is key.

    Maybe next year...
